Jane Mallett is principal of AATDWD. She is a qualified and insured companion dog training instructor who has been training dogs since 1999. Until recently Jane and her husband had two working sheepdogs of 12 and 15 years who both attained their Kennel Club Good Citizens Gold Awards. They currently have a nervous rescue collie cross of five years (KCGC Gold Award) who was finalist in Best Rescue at Buckham Fair in 2013.  The other member of the family is a Welsh Sheepdog who has also passed her KCGC Gold Award.


Jane has completed the APDT UK Instructor Foundation, Advanced and Part III courses. This involved rigorous theory and practical assessments taken over three years. She is now a member of the APDT (no. 01284). Jane also keeps up to date in companion dog training methods and has undertaken the initial Canine Psychology Course at Kingston Maurward College and workshops in obedience, clicker/marker training, predatory chase, breed traits in training, scent work etc. In addition, Jane is working towards Kennel Club Accreditation for Instructors for Companion Dogs.


Since 2014 Jane has also been a volunteer dog instructor and jointly leads a Puppy Course and Older Puppy Classes, and assists with Adolescent and Adult Dog classes.


Jane also helps to organise volunteers for the Dog Field for Buckham Fair which is attended by 20,000 people and raises money for charity.
